For Your Information:
*Core Extension classes are rotating through mini-classes. Classes switch April 25. 8th graders will have math and science in the afternoon for extended periods and 7th graders will have social studies and language arts for extended periods in the afternoon.
*Mid-term progress reports available online April 20. Unless, your child has a GPA below 2.0 or a D or U in any class, reports were not given to children. Please check grades online. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
*Money and permission slips for end of year trip to Key Lime Cove were due April 20. Unfortunately, we needed to communicate with Key Lime Cove the number of people who would be attending. If I did not receive your “reservation” it is now too late to turn in. If you are one of the people who did not pay on time you will either need to come to school on June 1st or remain at home. There will be teachers at school who will be in charge of students not going on the trip. If your child remains at home, please make sure they are called in sick as it is a school day.
*CROP Walk is Sunday, May 1. You may go online to register and get family and friends to donate money for this worthy cause. Please sign-up today. You need to see Mrs. Rogers for a permission slip but are encouraged to do donations online. Send the information to family and friends and they can go directly to the website to donate.
*Envelopes for Great America were passed out on Monday, April 18. Money and envelope are due May 19th.
*8th grade dance, for Julian 8th graders only, is Saturday, May 28 in the Julian Commons. Dance tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Dance begins at 7:00 PM and ends at 10:00 PM. You must arrive before
7:30 in order to be admitted. Attire should be age appropriate dresses for girls and nice pants, shirt, and tie for boys. Watch for further details.
*Earth Day celebration this week. Dress “green” and bring a waste free lunch on Wednesday. Prizes will be awarded during lunch.
*We are asking for your help. We are seeing an increase usage of cell phones DURING THE SCHOOL DAY. Sometimes the students respond they are talking to their parents, which in their mind is okay. The policy says phones should be off (not vibrate) during the school day and not be turned on until they are out of the building. They may keep the phone on their person but it should be out of sight. Due to the style of clothing, we frequently see phones sticking out of pockets or being dropped on the floor because they don’t fit in the pockets. We have a basket we can hold phones in for the day and return to students at 3:30. Very few students are utilizing this system. We would appreciate any assistance for you.
Parents, please take a few minutes to review this with your child so you will know what is expected for this week. Also, be aware that sometimes things arise and we do not always accomplish what we have planned.
